Do you have a favorite day of the week?
I do, and it’s not Friday.
I heart Wednesdays, and it’s not because it’s hump day. I will admit, I do chuckle about hump day because I’m fond of silly humor.
But Wednesdays are so different from every other day of the week. It’s the day when I wake up and my immediate thought isn’t work. Most mornings, when I open my eyes, a monumental task since I hate mornings and my first word is usually inappropriate for many ears, I usually start to run through my head what deadlines I have to meet, which Skype calls need to be made, whether it’s I Heart Lesfic or Lesbians Who Write prep day, and what chapter am I writing for which book.
The way I’ve set up my week isn’t typical (if that still exists in today’s digital economy). My weekends are the busiest days, followed up by Mondays and Tuesdays. That’s because on Mondays, Clare Lydon and I drop a fresh Lesbians Who Write podcast episode. On Tuesdays, I send out the I Heart Lesfic newsletter. On Thursdays, Clare and I record the next episode of LWW. By Friday, I’m starting to put together the next IHL newsletter.
As you can see, every day is accounted for except Wednesday. It’s the day I lay in bed for an extra hour or so reading the news, listening to podcasts, or just staying warm and cozy under the covers. Sometimes, I plan spa days. Others, I go on an adventure. Because there’s nothing pulling me into work.
So, Wednesdays, I love you. Don’t ever change, please.
